RESOURCE CENTRE WEEK 2011: COOKING DEMONSTRATION #1






The activity that has been planned for Minggu Pusat Sumber 2011 for today is a Cooking Demonstration.  Early in the morning, Puan Asiah demonstrated to some of the students, teachers and staff how to make Telur Pindang.  She got the recipe from Cikgu Ridaudin's wife, Cikgu Nurul. 

Here is the recipe:

Telur Pindang

150 biji telur
1 paket jintan putih
1 paket jntan manis
1 paket rempah biji/ketumbar
1 paket kecil rempah kari ikan
1 paket kecil rempah kari daging
5 keping assam keping (dipotong dua)
Halia 1 inci (potong)
Lengkuas 1 inci (potong)
Garam kasar 3 genggam
Pucuk jambu batu (5)
Pucuk senduduk merah (5)
5 batang serai (potong)
Kicap (percikkan untuk warna)
10 biji cili kering (potong)

Cara
  1. Susun sebahagian dari bahan campuran rempah dan daun dahulu.
  2. Susun telur di atas bahan tersebut.
  3. Tutup dengan sebahagian lagi bahan campuran.
  4. Masukkan air sehingga menenggelami seluruh telur.
  5. Masak atas api yang perlahan selama 8 jam.
  6. Hari kedua (esok) masak lagi 4 jam.
*  Sewaktu masak buka sedikit tudung periuk.

The Telur Pindang was finally ready after 8 hours of cooking.  Actually it would be better to cook it again the next day but then everyone present was eager to try it.
