TREE PLANTING CEREMONY FOR 'HARI KOPERASI'

One of the activities to mark "Hari Koperasi" in our school is the tree planting ceremony.  The plant chosen for this special occasion is the 'little sparrow' plant.  It is called such as the plant has flowers that take the shape of a 'little sparrow'. If you look closely, the flower does look like a 'little bird' perched among the bracts. The scientific name for the plant is Pedilanthus Bracteatus and its common name is Tall Slipper Flower. Here in Malaysia it is more popularly known as Xiao Niao Hua or Little Bird Flower.
Our super principal, Puan Siti Arfah bt Ibrahim was given the honour of planting the Pedilanthus after assembly this morning.
