Today marks the start of the Industrial Traineeship Programme for the Form 4 SKM students of Sekolah Menengah Vokasional Seri Manjung. It appears that our school is the first Vocational school in Malaysia to carry out the traineeship programme which was mooted by Voctech.
The teachers-in-charge of the programme having a last minute discussion before handing over the students to the respective industries which had volunteered to take in our students.

In her speech, she had told the students that they were very lucky as they were the first batch of students to be involved in such a programme.
The students were advised by our super principal to make the best of the opportunity given to learn and gain as much experience as they could from their industrial stint.

The boys and girls were sitting anxiously in the bus waiting to start their traineeship. A few told me that they were feeling nervous.

From the drop off point, the students would then go to the various companies that they had been assigned. Their day would start at 8.00 a.m. and end at 5.00 p.m. The bus would be sending them to the drop off points in the morning and picking them up at 5.00 p.m. A few teachers would take turns to go with the bus to pick the students up.
Next, I shall be reporting on a few of the companies that I have visited with Puan Hajjah Zamrudah and Puan Nurul.
