INDUSTRIAL TRAINEESHIP: TELUK BATIK RESORT

We are into the second day of the Industrial Traineeship Programme today.  I went with Puan Nor Amlina, Puan Salasiah and Cikgu Shahabudin to visit 7 of our students at the Teluk Batik Resort.
The Human Resource Officer for the resort happens to be a Stesmarian, Intan.  See, everywhere we go we meet up with our former students.  She was the one who showed us around.
4 of our boys working at Maintenance this week. In the picture, you can see Mr Steven who is the one who is supervising the boys.
The task for today was to clean the air conditioning unit in the hotel rooms.
Receiving instruction from the technician on what to do when servicing the air conditioners.
The boys listening intently on how to check the electrical appliances in the hotel room.
Walking from the rooms to the coffee lounge of the hotel.
Having a chat with the Food and Beverage Manager.  3 of our boys are assigned to this department.
Cikgu Shahabudin with one of our trainees at the Food and Beverage Department.
Learning how to fold the napkins from a F&B staff.
Yes!  You got it right.  Clever boy.

Puan Salasiah, Puan Nor Amlina, Cikgu Shahabudin and Mr Sam, the Operations Manager of Teluk Batik Resort.  Mr Sam told us that they would try and give maximum exposure to our boys during their month-long training at the resort.  The management will arrange it in such a way that the boys get to work in different departments.  Next week, those in the Food and Beverage Department will work at Maintenance and vice versa.
Anyway, I think our boys are rather contented there.  They get two free meals a day, breakfast and lunch.  I heard that they had nasi goreng and nuggets for breakfast in the morning.  Their lunch yesterday was Nasi Ayam.  Besides getting to learn a lot, they are also well fed.  Plus they have Kakak Intan to look after them.  Lucky boys!
