Today is Cikgu Ishak Ismail's last day as a teacher of Sekolah Menengah Vokasional Seri Manjung. As of tomorrow, he will be attached to Sekolah Menengah Seri Manjung. STESMA was the first school that he was posted to after completing his studies at Universiti Malaya. Now after 12 years of serving in this school, he is moving to another school as Physics is no longer offered in our school since we have reverted to a vocational school.
I noticed that my friend and colleague from 1998 to 2010 was filled with emotion when he gave his speech during assembly and I could see tears welling up in his eyes when many of us wanted to have our photographs taken with him as keepsakes. When a few of his students started to cry, he could barely control his emotions. He is always jesting that he won't miss our school but I am sure that in his heart, he is missing this familiar place and all the familiar faces like crazy.
Good luck to him in his new school!

MENTOR MENTEE PROGRAMME 2010
The Mentor Mentee Programme under the Guidance and Counselling Unit for 2010 started this morning. After Cikgu Fatin gave the announcement and briefing about the programme, the students were told to go to the places allocated for them to meet with their mentors. Those whose mentors were involved with KAT were to remain in the hall. Cikgu Hakim would be their temporary mentor.
VERY SHORT ASSEMBLY
Cikgu Ali was the teacher on duty for assembly this morning. He informed everyone that the assembly would be short as it would be followed by the Mentor-Mentee Programme. He announced to those present that the prize giving ceremony for Minggu Pusat Sumber would be held next week and asked everyone to be patient.
The students going for the KAT in Ipoh were attired in the Physical Education clothes as they would be leaving after assembly.

MEMBESAR DI VOKASMA
1998

I heard someone asking him whether he felt sad at having to leave Vokasma as he practically grew up here. When he first reported for duty he was 25 years old and now at 37 years of age he is leaving us to go teach in the school across the road. Here are some pictures of him from 1998 to 2010. Abang kita memang membesar di Vokasma.
PRIZES FOR MINGGU PUSAT SUMBER

The prizes for the "Guess the Chocolate Footballs" contest, the World Cup Crossword Puzzle and the 2010 Fifa World Cup Quiz were bought using the money from the sale of herbal drinks, the collection of fines for library books and also from the money we earned selling NILAM record books. The Book Prizes for the teachers and students who had read the most books or who had visited the Vokasma blog the most were sponsored by one of the book companies that we usually do business with. The rest of the money for the programme was sourced from the library funds. The money collected from selling the contest forms were actually used for buying the paper for photostating them, the chocolate footballs for the contest and also to buy or rent the DVDs for the screening of the two movies.
